In this message the speaker explains that God’s rest in the Book of Genesis shows His satisfaction with a finished work. This same idea appears in Christ’s work on the cross—foretold in the book of Isaiah and fulfilled in the Gospel of John when Jesus declared, “It is finished.” Because of this, believers are accepted by God through Christ’s completed sacrifice, confirmed by His resurrection and exaltation described in the epistle to the Ephesians. Christians can therefore find true rest and satisfaction in what God has done and in the future hope promised in the First Epistle of John that they will one day see Christ and be like Him.
